Leading up to turning 30 was intense for me... I am no longer in my twenties, I am starting to see wrinkles all oven my face... I remember when my mom turned 30... next is 40... My body aches... Does this mole need checked?... BOTOX?... These were just some of the crazy things running through my head. I am about 2 weeks into my thirties and I feel okay now. Thanks to my amazing husband and lots of great friends and family members, this birthday is one I won't soon forget.
The weekend before my birthday my sweet sister flew in for a visit. It was so fun to have her in town, especially since she stayed at my house. We went out to dinner in celebration of my birthday on the Saturday before my actual birthday. We went to Su Casa and to a movie. My mom was there; my sister, Melissa; my sister in-law, Amber and my grandma too. It was so fun!!!
On the night of my birthday I was supposed to go out to dinner with Mitch. Kemari, my sweet niece was coming to watch the girls, but she canceled at the last minute. I called Mitch and told him we were going to have to take the girls. He told me that instead of Asian Star we would just go to Chin Wah since it is more family friendly. I was okay with this. Mitch and I would go out on our own on the weekend. We show up to Chin Wah and Mitch, being the gentleman he is, sends me in and tells me he will bring the kids. I walk in and to my surprise, some of my friends had planned a little party for me. Mitch was in on the plan and he ended up leaving with the girls. I was totally surprised and even cried!
This was the birthday that kept on giving. The Saturday after my birthday Mitch and I went to Ogden and did iFly. It is a simulated sky diving place. IT WAS THE FUNNEST THING I HAVE DONE IN A WHILE. The best part was that he planned the babysitting and the whole thing. We went to dinner at a steakhouse in Syarcuse called Calvin's. It was pretty good too. Thank you Michelle for babysitting.
Being 30 is not too bad so far. Hopefully I can cope with being 30 long enough to turn 31... EEK, that sounds SCARY... 31!!!
