I'm a Chickenhawk...

We can't decide if he is a falcon or a hawk, we have googled both and we are stumped. Either way, this big guy thought he would make my front yard into a restaurant this morning. The girls and I backed out of the driveway to find this huge bird on the front lawn and he wasn't interested in going anywhere anytime soon. I thought maybe he was injured since he wouldn't move, but I called Mitch and he convinced me that I didn't need to call anyone to come save the day. So I left him sitting there on the lawn and went to run my errands.

When I arrived home, the bird was gone and all that was left was a pile of feathers... so I thought. When Mitch came home he told me that there were way too many feathers to be from the bird just hanging out in the front yard and that her must have killed another bird. Here I am feeling sorry for the stupid bird when the whole time he was committing a murder right in my front yard!

I went out to investigate and found a head of a dove right there in the pile of feathers! Big jerk! This bird ate one of the sweet little doves that live in the tree in the front yard! I am glad I didn't realize this until Mitch came home.

Girls n' their BiKEs!!!

Karlee has gotten pretty dang good on this little scooter! She will go and go and go for hours. The only problem is that she refuses to keep her shoes on her feet. I will put on shoes and socks thinking that at least her socks will stay on... nope! They never do. This poor girl has bloody toes that won't heal because she is too stubborn (like her dad of course).

Morgan has learned how to ride a 2 wheeler bike too! She is a very determined little thing, wouldn't stop until she got it down. Now she is a pro! My girls are getting very big, this has been quite the summer for us.

The move...

About a month ago. My sweet in-laws went from Gene and Marcia Gronning to Elder and Sister Gronning. They are currently serving a mission in Moscow Russia. The people of Russia are so luck to be blessed with such sweet spirits. While they are missed greatly here I am sure they will touch many lives in Russia that need them. Heavenly Father knows what he is doing. I am grateful for Gene and Marcia and the example that they are to me. The faith that they are showing is amazing. I am lucky to know them and I am so blessed to have married their son.

We got the opportunity to move into their home and take care of it while they are away. We are getting settled and having fun with all the extra space we have. We are getting to know the neighbors and getting our feet planted pretty well. Everyone is very nice and we have felt very welcome here.

The ward is amazing and very on top of things. The day after we moved in the RS were at the door, the asked me if I wanted to be a visiting teacher, I said "yes" and BAM-- my first week at church I was given my visiting teaching assignment. I also received a calling on Sunday, I will be a teacher in the primary. They are not wasting ANY time. I have lived here 3 weeks! I can't wait to see what they have in store for Mitch. I am sure it is something big! I will keep you posted!

The girls love it here, never a dull moment. They get excited to show people their new house when they come to visit. Morgan wants to have a different friend over everyday! They both enjoy riding bikes in the backyard. They are constantly on the trampoline. But... some of their favorite things about this house my surprise you!

ANTS...

They love looking for ant piles for daddy to kill. This is a big one they found in the front yard. We enjoyed spraying the ants and watching them crawl up the wall to get away. Then dropping off of the wall one by one as they died. Quite exciting!!!

THE PANTRY...

The best place, as any of the grand kids will tell you... is Granny's pantry. Granny always kept her pantry fully stocked of all the good stuff. Cookies, chips, cereal (the good kind mommy doesn't buy), beef jerky, and the infamous treat jar. My girls think that the pantry is still free reign like it was when Granny was here. Well, IT'S NOT!!! I finally had to get a lock on the pantry to show the girls who was boss. They seem to forget so quickly! ;)

Toothfairy Letter

So the toothfairy came and she responded!!! She let Morgan keep her tooth, but said she could only keep this one. She said Morgan had a really cute tooth. She still left money even though she didn't take the tooth! What a nice fairy she is! She didn't leave "100 moneys" like Morgan asked for. But she left 1 WHOLE DOLLAR!!! Mo is thrilled. She took the tooth to school to show her teacher and they gave her a treasure chest to keep it in.

What a day!!!

This morning as I sit working, like I do every morning while I wait for the girls to wake up. I hear Karlee throw something in the garbage. It was her diaper. I look at her and she is standing there in BIG GIRL PANTIES telling me that she needs to go pee! What? I am not planning on potty training this week. NOOOO!!! I tried talking her into putting on a diaper, but she was not having it. So... the potty training began. She did awesome ALL day! Not one accident, until this evening when Mitch got home, she pooped on the floor. (Sorry Marcia, we cleaned it up really well! Hehehe!) So I guess my 2 year old is going to potty train herself this week, weather I am ready or not! SHOOT!

If this wasn't enough for one day... Morgan, (YES the same Morgan that started Kindergarten this week) also lost her first tooth. We were playing outside after dinner and I looked at her and thought it had already fallen out... it was just hanging there. So being the BIG BRAVE MOTHER that I am... I yanked that baby right out! She was thrilled. Anyone that knows Morgan can imagine that this could have been quite a dramatic moment, but it wasn't. She was so excited, she just wanted to get on the phone and call everyone she knew. She wrote a letter to the tooth fairy, we will have to see if she responds. We will keep you all posted tomorrow.

My two little ladies are growing up so quickly. Especially this week. I am one lucky gal to have such sweet girls to spend my time with. Not to mention the amazing man I have to share them with. Does it get much better then this? I think not!

Morgan's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Morgan began KiNDeRgArTEn today. Her teacher is Mrs. McDougal and she is going to Jordan Ridge Elementary. She was a little bit nervous yesterday leading up to her big day. She woke up this morning telling me that she felt like she had butterflies in her tummy. She is SO CUTE!!!

SO EXCITED for her big day! She asked daddy to give her a special prayer and put oil on her head. It was so sweet. Daddy gave her a blessing before kindergarten, I am so grateful to have the priesthood in our home.

This is Morgan standing in line waiting to go in. She seems to be getting a bit nervous now.

This is Morgan coming out from her first day of Kindergarten. She is smiling so big!!! She told me that she didn't remember what they did. She said it was boring and that she had to go back tomorrow. Silly girl!

VIDEO WORKED!

Here is the video I was talking about. I guess it didn't want to load with pictures too. At the end when they all lose track of what they are doing... they are supposed to be doing a stunt! Some of the girls didn't didn't show up so they were all lost!

ENJOY!

Cheering @ Riverton Arts Fesitval

Morgan was a STAR on Saturday. She had a cheer performance at the Riverton Arts Festival. She did a great job! I have been trying to load a video, but it isn't working. I will keep trying, here are some pics to hold you over. SO CUTE!

The nerves are starting to set in.

In the middle of a toe touch, I just could get the shot quite right.

Maybe Karlee will want to cheer someday too!

Crazy Hair DAY!

I LOVE my gals and their CRAZY hair!!!

This is what the trampoline does to Karlee's hair.

Excuse the nudity! Haha! This is Morgan after taking her air out to get in the tub. She thought it was so funny!

Little Miss Macgyver

So Morgan said the funniest thing this morning I HAVE To share!

First I will set up the scene:

I was getting her dressed for school and I had the phone in my hand. I needed 2 hands to do up the buttons on her shirt so I threw the phone onto her bed. It slid off of her bed and hit the floor. She reassured me that it was going to be okay. She said...

Morgan: "Mom, don't worry if the phone is cracked I know how to fix it."

Me: "Oh really, how would you fix it?"

Morgan: *With a very matter of fact look on her face* "Well, it depends, if it is a really big crack I will use a really big piece of DUCT TAPE. If the crack is a little bit smaller, I will use a little piece of DUCT TAPE. It will be totally fine."

I just laughed. How in the world does Morgan know what DUCT TAPE is? We don't use it very often, in fact, I don't think we own any! My little miss Macgyver!

FUN at the ZOO

We went to the ZOO this weekend and it was SOOOOO fun! Morgan could go to the ZOO everyday and have fun. This trip was fun with Karlee because it was the first time she had gone and actually got REALLY excited. She was a hoot! The elephants were not her favorite, but she loved everything else. This was some much needed FaMilY TiME and I am glad we went.
